The Logistics & Supply Chain Management Society Strengthens its Procurement Leadership with the Appointment of Rick Ackermann to its Executive Committee

Singapore, 28 July 2026 – The Logistics & Supply Chain Management Society (LSCMS) has announced the appointment of Ricardo (Rick) Ackermann to its Executive Committee (ExCo), marking another important step in the Society’s commitment to strengthening procurement as a core pillar of the supply chain profession.

As organisations continue to rethink their supply chains in response to geopolitical uncertainty, supplier risk, inflation, sustainability requirements and rapid advances in artificial intelligence, procurement has emerged as one of the most strategic business functions within modern enterprises.

Recognising this evolution, LSCMS is expanding the breadth of expertise represented within its leadership to ensure that the Society reflects the full spectrum of end-to-end supply chain management – not only logistics and transportation but also procurement, sourcing, planning, manufacturing and commercial strategy.

Rick Ackermann brings decades of international leadership experience across strategic procurement, sourcing, supplier relationship management and commercial leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked with global organisations to strengthen supplier partnerships, improve procurement performance, develop high-performing teams and create sustainable business value through more effective sourcing strategies.

Welcoming the appointment, Dr. Raymon Krishnan, President of the Logistics & Supply Chain Management Society, said procurement is becoming one of the defining disciplines of the next generation of supply chain leaders.

Rick’s appointment reflects the Society’s broader ambition to build a truly multidisciplinary professional community that represents every stage of the supply chain.

As an Executive Committee member, Rick will contribute to the strategic direction of LSCMS while supporting initiatives aimed at expanding procurement-focused education, executive roundtables, professional development programmes, thought leadership and industry collaboration. He will also play an active role in conferences, symposiums and events organised by LSCMS and its partners, sharing practical insights from his extensive leadership experience.
